Thanks for the suggestion of pickling before soldering. I have been learning to solder sterling silver and have had some difficulty getting the solder to flow. (It balls up sometimes) One suggestion is to clean the silver and solder better. Can I pickle the solder too? (I am using wire solder) I think it may have oxidized as I was torching the wire end in the flame as a means of applying the solder.
