Michael Johnson runs and operates this blog on metal design and metal smiting.   This blog is meant to explore the aspects of being a metal smith and designer.  This is not just the creation of pieces but the work that goes behind it.  Such as running a studio, pricing, purchasing materials and selling work.

It will also explore the lifestyle that goes behind being a metal smith.  For most metal smiths this is not their full time job or primary interest in life.  There will be entries about the other interests Michael Johnson has and his other career as a Master Student in Library Science.
