One of my early posts was about how to replace and change silver pickle. I realized shortly after creating the post that a video would be a nice addition. Nine months later here it is!
There are instructions about ratio-to-ratio mixtures and proper mixing on all different pickle solution boxes. However, the problem with these instructions is that most people use small crock-pots that are of varying sizes bought from hardware stores and Wal-Mart. I was taught how to mix pickle in a more improvised fashion.
Put cold water in your neutralized and clean crock-pot. Then sprinkle in a dusting of the dry pickle mixture on the bottom of the crock-pot. Stir the water with your copper tongs until all the dry mixture is dissolved. The water will turn a milky color. Bring the crock-pot back to your work area and let it sit for a little time. Your old pickle may have been a deep blue color, but the new pickle will be transparent. As it gets older it will become blue again.
